Analysts predict Apple's expansion of the iPhone to Verizon in the US will net 9 to 12 million iPhone subscribers this year, nearly as many as AT&T attracted in 2010.
The Verizon iPhone 4 and the resulting multi-carrier iPhone era are set to impact Apple’s way of doing business in strange ways.
Apple is expected to be downplaying the importance of the Verizon iPhone. Apple cannot raise expectations, if Verizon simply gets the iPhone 4 as well and Apple surely wants to stay out of a carrier bitch fight. However, the iPhone 4 at Verizon is critical for the company's future success.

Angry Birds is the most popular games iOS, the total amount of over ten million times to download.
Gear4, a maker of iPhone accessories has introduced a new line of Angry Birds cases for the iPhone 4 with the first three versions of the case featuring the king pig, as well as the red and yellow birds.
Not much else is offered up by O2's holding page, though. All we know is that O2 will stock them, obviously, that Gear4 makes them, they're coming sometime this month (November) and that they will only fit iPhone 4s.
The Gear4 Angry Birds cases will cost around $25 plus shipping costs from the UK.
[photo] White iPhone 4 does exist
Has been to the fourth quarter, the white iPhone 4 still does not appear, but obviously there are many white Apple iPhone hands waiting for problems.
We were in a lift at a press event in New York City, when we spotted a white iPhone 4. ... We went and talked to the owner to see why and how he had [it]. ... It turns out that ... Apple's HQ in Cupertino is swimming with white iPhones ... he had a mate that "fixed him up" with his. Stuart Miles sticks, resolutely, to British English.
The White iPhone 4 was expected to hit the shelves in July but it did not materialize. "White models of Apple's new iPhone 4 have proven more challenging to manufacture than expected," Jobs said, giving no specifics about the manufacturing issues.
iPhone 4 Rumor: Verizon iPhone 4 Is Coming
Arguably, Verizon has the best network in US and it is estimated that the reason is well enough to bring in more rumors at hand. Till the last fall’s launch of Motorola Droid, Verizon experienced a terrible lineup of smartphones which relied purely on outdated BlackBerry and Windows Mobile Devices. At the same time, AT&T put down the iPhone due to punishing number of complaints on its poor service.
If the phone becomes available on two networks, analysts believe it could result in a significant loss of revenue for AT&T, whose subscribers will have an alternative to its network. AT&T has been the target of complaints for dropped calls and slow internet speeds.
While the arrival of the iPhone on Verizon had long been expected, some industry insiders doubted that Apple would bring the iPhone to Verizon before the carrier deployed its next-generation network, known as Long-Term Evolution.

Unicom iPhone 4 first day sales of 40,000 in China
According to China Unicom news, as of 25th of this month, China Unicom has over 40,000 users for the iPhone4 network access procedures.
Sales of the handset are expected to outpace its predecessor, the iPhone 3GS, which launched last November with disappointing results. In contrast to other countries which reportedly sold millions of units within 24 hours, sales of the 3GS in China reached a disappointing 5,000 units within three days. These lagging sales resulted from an extraordinarily high price tag ($1,025) and the lack of WiFi, which Apple crippled to meet government mandates requiring devices with WiFi to support the WAPI standard.
It helps that this iPhone is not crippled like last year's model, which at the request of the Chinese government was manufactured without a Wi-Fi receiver. The price is a little better too. A contract-free 32GB iPhone 3GS sold for $1,033 last year. This year's 32GB iPhone 4 retails for 5,999 yuan ($905) without a contract. The 16GB model goes for 4,999 yuan ($754).

Apple iPhone 4: Jailbreak iOS 4.1 iPhone 4 / 3GS
It looks like we're about to see a jailbreak for iDevices: good news for users who want non-AppStore apps. It's even working for the new iOS 4.02 and 4.1. Listen up, if you want the latest operating system, or you've accidentally upgraded to it (specifically, if you own an iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPad, or iPod Touch 4G). It's a bootROM exploit, which appears tricky for Apple to fix (oh boo-hoo, how terribly tragic).
Hackers almost immediately try to jailbreak any new release from Apple with the intention of running unauthorized software. He adds that over a million owners having already jailbroken their devices in order to get apps from other sources rather than paying for them through Apple’s iTunes Store.
Users may want to think twice. ... In February, Apple filed for a patent that covers the ability to spot and disable various unauthorized uses ... jailbreaking included.

White Apple iPhone 4 release date cancelled: continued to be desired
The White iPhone 4 release date is delayed, but that Apple handset in white is still desired. The White iPhone 4 was notreleased with the black counterpart, much to the chagrin of those who wanted the designer color. Apple cited simply “production complications” as the reason for the delay of their product. Of course, this has frustrated many potential Apple customers, and is added to the growing laundry list of concerns that consumers have about the new smartphone.
Apple recently announced that they had manufacturing problems with the white iPhone’s and that is why they were forced to delay the release to later in the year.
It comes with a stiff, plastic band. This helps it to cover the entire metal edge of the iPhone 4. Besides, it has a relatively tough rubber around the front and rear edges. They manage to hold the Bumper in place.

Apple has reminded consumers that the iPhone4 can be returned
"As a reminder, if you are not fully satisfied, you can return your undamaged iPhone to any Apple Retail Store or the online Apple Store within 30 days of purchase for a full refund."
Consumer Reports said after testing the iPhone 4 “there is a problem with its reception,” which when the phone was held the wrong way can cause the signal to “significantly degrade enough to cause you to lose your connection altogether if you're in an area with a weak signal.”
Apple has claimed it is a software issue. In a statement the company said the problem was that the “formula we use to calculate how many bars of signal strength to display is totally wrong,” causing the phone to display two more bars than actually represented.
Apple is not the first manufacturer to caution against resting your hand on an antenna. Handsets with internal antennas often include warnings in the user manual or on a sticker that is removed before use. Unlike other devices, however, the iPhone 4's cellular antenna runs around the edge of the phone, right where left-handed users tend to rest their palms.
The iPhone 4 also differs from other handsets in that its antenna is electrically exposed. Instead of touching a rubber coating, you touch the antenna directly. And when you bridge the gap, your finger appears to interfere with the antenna's efficiency.
Look forward to Apple's swift action on this matter, and once again laud Apple for its innovative efforts and service to millions of Americans.

Apple iPhone 4 Update Won't Fix Antenna Glitch
Shanghai’s Newest Apple Store Opens Today !
AppleCare concedes the only way to avoid so-called "grip of death" bug is to hold the device more carefully.
via Paul McDougall
Apple support staffers are confirming to customers what the company itself does not appear anxious to admit—the forthcoming firmware update for iPhone 4 won't fix the device's finicky antenna.
In a response to queries from tech blog Gizmodo, AppleCare technicians conceded that palming iPhone 4 in the left hand blocks a particularly sensitive part of the antenna, a fact that can't be changed by a software patch.
"We called AppleCare three times today to confirm it," Gizmodo said in a post earlier this week. "Their response was immediate and unequivocal, the same in the three cases," the blog reported. AppleCare is telling iPhone 4 buyers who encounter the problem to "hold the phone differently," Gizmodo said.

The European smartphone market is growing 38 percent year-on-year, but the most recent year has seen some significant developments. In the last 12 months, although the dominant OS, Symbian, gained device owners, market momentum has now moved to the North American operating systems of RIM, Apple and Google, each of which has grown by substantial percentage over the past year.
LONDON, U.K., June 23, 2010 – comScore, Inc. (NASDAQ: SCOR), a leader in measuring the digital world, today outlined the impact the first three generations of Apple’s iPhone have had on the European mobile market, in light of record pre-sales and extraordinary consumer demand for the iPhone 4, which launches tomorrow.
The iPhone currently represents just 4 percent of the EU5 (U.K., France, Germany, Spain, Italy) mobile market, but 18 percent of the overall EU5 smartphone market. However, the iPhone has facilitated fundamental change in mobile user behaviour and ignited fierce competition among device and operating system (OS) providers.
iPhone owners are the most voracious consumers of mobile media: 94 percent use mobile media, 87 percent use applications and 85 percent browse the mobile internet. With just 4 percent share of the European market, iPhone users represent 12 percent of all mobile media users.

Apple IOS 4 will be upgraded
Apple has not announced exactly when the free download will be made available, though it will reportedly start around 10am Pacific time. The iOS 4 section of the Apple Web site currently has a "Coming Soon" banner.
Apple has quietly prepared the ground for the software upgrade. For example, within the iTunes 9.2 Devices menu the image of the iPhone has changed from a basic 3GS to a 3GS featuring the iOS4 wallpaper.
As Steve Jobs hinted back in April, for most users, multi-tasking – the ability to jump back and forth between open apps – will be the biggest draw of iOS 4.
“It’s really easy to implement multitasking in a way that drains battery life," Jobs said at the launch of iOS 4. "If you don’t do it just right your phone’s going to feel sluggish and your battery life is going to go way down. We’ve figured out how to implement multitasking of third-party apps and avoid those things," he added. "It’s very, very easy to use and very efficient, and I think users are going to love it."

AT&T Inc., the exclusive provider of iPhone service in the U.S., said it sold out all the devices it had allocated for preorders.
